Academic Papers in General
An academic paper is a systematical description (mostly as text), which was built by an author within an own methodological research. Academic papers emerge in general at Universities or other Research Organisations and are mostly written by students or researchers. Templates
As a student at our working group it is strongly recommended to use our offered templates to write your own academic papers (like diploma, master or bachelor thesis). These document templates not only contain layout restrictions but also contain hints and information how to write academic papers! If you have some questions or improvements please feel free to contact our staff.
Since 2007 a presentation template with a new design exists also and it should be used for all presentations from or at our working group.
Plagiarism
"Plagiarism is the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work. Unlike cases of forgery, in which the authenticity of the writing, document, or some other kind of object, itself is in question, plagiarism is concerned with the issue of false attribution." (see Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plagiarism )
To prevent plagirism in academic papers a declaration has to be signed by the student if a thesis is submitted. This allows to deprive an academic title afterward. So please be correct in citations!
